Trip Dates February 17-19, 2017

Day 1 (Friday)

Participants may meet up in Baguio or in Bontoc. For participants coming from Baguio, we take the 6-hour journey to Bontoc. We take our service in Bontoc and travel up the mountains half an hour for Bontoc. In the afternoon we’ll explore the rice terraces and villages. A possible portrait shoot may be in order. We’ll catch the scenic sundown at the rice terraces. Optional night shoot.

Day 2 (Saturday)

We’ll wake up early for the hike to catch the star studded sky, the sea of clouds and unfolding view of the Maligcong Rice Terraces at Mt Kupapey. We’ll have a relaxed free time mid day. In the afternoon we’ll take you to our secret spot in Bontoc for the sunset. Optional night shoot.

Day 3 (Sunday)

We’ll have a morning walk to the terraces up to the Chagachag viewpoint. We head down the village for an optional street photography session in town before heading back to Baguio on the afternoon bus.

Suggested Equipment:

  • Camera(s) (DSLR, Mirrorless, Advance Compact)
  • Standard to wide angle lenses, telephoto and portrait lenses
  • Filters: Gradual Neutral Density (GND), Circular Polarizing (CPL) and Neutral Density (ND)
  • Tripod
  • Extra Batteries
  • Laptops or Ipad/tablets for photo sharing

Things to bring:

  • Light and comfortable hiking/walking clothes
  • Jacket for the cold and rain
  • Umbrella
  • Headlamp or torch
  • Mosquito repellant
  • Good and comfortable hiking shoes or footwear
  • Mobile phones
  • Dry Bags

What is the level of fitness required to join? Are there extensive trekking involved?
While participants of any fitness level are welcome, we do recommend preparedness as there will be some hiking involved. The difficulty is from easy to moderate with hike durations from an hour or more depending on the pace.

Do I have to be a professional to join the tour?
Any one is free to join as long as you are enthusiastic about capturing stunning images for this trip. Whether you shoot using a DSLR, compact camera system, point and shoot or even smartphones, you are welcome to join. Rest assured your skills and knowledge will expand in this photo tour.

I don’t want to share the room. Can I have the room on my own or share with my special someone?
The price is based on triple to quad occupancy. We will be staying at Suzette’s Homestay in Maligcong which is one of the three lodgings available in the town. Accommodations are basic but clean and well-kept. The place is very cozy. We cannot guarantee individual rooms for individual or couples as there are only limited rooms available. If ever we find a room, there will be additional charges.

What is your method of Payment?
We accept payment via bank deposit through BPI and BDO. Details would be sent to you once you register on our interest list.

Can we extend our stay in Maligcong or Bontoc?
Participants are free to come in early or extend their stay in Bontoc at their own expense provided they join the activities during the tour.

Something came up and I can’t join the tour. Can I refund?
Please see our refund policy below:

  • Slot is non-refundable but transferable
